That's not an island! This (not very miniature) miniature, a mythical turtle with an island on its back, is perfect for a salty sea battle. It comes with the sea base shown in the picture.

According to the tradition of the Physiologus and medieval bestiaries, the aspidochelone is a fabled sea creature, variously described as a large whale or vast sea turtle, and a giant sea monster with huge spines on the ridge of its back. No matter what form it is, it is always described as being huge where it is often mistaken for an island and appears to be rocky with crevices and valleys with trees and greenery and having sand dunes all over it. The name aspidochelone appears to be a compound word combining Greek aspis (which means either "asp" or "shield"), and chelone, the turtle. It rises to the surface from the depths of the sea, and entices unwitting sailors with its island appearance to make landfall on its huge shell and then the whale is able to pull them under the ocean, ship and all the people, drowning them. It also emits a sweet smell that lures fish into its trap where it then devours them.

Each miniature is printed with high-quality UV resin, then cleaned and cured by hand. Note that this process can sometimes result in minor cosmetic defects to the product, including small scratches end of it. We will not ship any product that we would not use in our own tabletop games. Ready to prime and paint.

🎨 Example photographs are shown in gray, and we make every effort to keep gray resin in stock. If it is necessary to use another color we will contact you and offer the option to wait until gray is back in stock.

🛠 Some products print in multiple parts and may require assembly. If this is the case for this miniature it will be noted in the description, above. If you need instructions, please contact us and we can send you pictures. We recommend super glue or epoxy glue.
